Refund, Cancellation & Design Policy

At Bite Me, every order is freshly baked to order using quality ingredients. Because our products are perishable and many of our items are custom made, we have the following refund, cancellation and design policy.

Standard Baked Goods

Due to the perishable nature of our products, we do not offer refunds, returns or exchanges for change of mind.

If your order is incorrect, damaged, spoiled or does not meet acceptable quality standards, please contact us within 24 hours of receiving your order. We may request:

Proof of purchase
Photographs of the product
A brief description of the issue.

Where appropriate, we will offer a replacement, store credit or refund in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

Custom Cakes & Special Orders

Custom cakes, cupcakes, cookies and other made-to-order products require significant planning, preparation and the purchase of ingredients and decorative materials specifically for your order.

Deposits & Payment

A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking.
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 7 days prior to your scheduled collection or delivery date.
If the remaining balance is not received by the due date, Bite Me reserves the right to cancel the order. In this event, the booking deposit will be forfeited.

Cancellations

If your order is cancelled more than 7 days before the scheduled collection or delivery date, and preparation has not commenced, your deposit will be refunded in full.
If your order is cancelled within 7 days of collection or delivery, the deposit is non-refundable.
Once preparation has commenced, including purchasing materials, baking, decorating or preparing custom elements, no refund of the deposit will be provided.
If the balance has already been paid and the order is cancelled after preparation has commenced, any refund will be at Bite Me's discretion, taking into account work completed and costs already incurred.

Design Inspiration & Creative Interpretation

Reference images are welcomed and are used as inspiration only. They help us understand your preferred style, colours and overall aesthetic, but they are not provided for exact replication.

Every Bite Me creating is individually handcrafted. As such, slight variations in colour, decoration, proportions, textures, florals, fonts, decorative elements and overall finish are a natural part of the creative process. Artistic and creative discretion may be used to ensure your order is structurally sound, visually balanced and achievable within your chosen design and budget.

By placing a custom order, you acknowledge that your finished product will be an original Bite Me creation inspired by your reference images, rather than an exact copy of another decorator's work.

Please note that colours may vary slightly due to differences in edible colourings, lighting, photography and screen displays. Exact colour matching cannot be guaranteed.

Refunds, replacements or credits will not be provided solely because the finished product differs from a reference or inspiration image, provided it reasonable reflects the agreed design brief, is of acceptable quality and complies with Australian Consumer Law.

Collection & Delivery

Please ensure someone is available to collect or receive your order at the agreed time.

Once an order has been collected or successfully delivered, responsibility for the product transfers to the customer. Bite Me is not responsible for damage resulting from incorrect handling, transportation, storage, exposure to heat, or any other circumstances beyond our control after collection or delivery.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Where required by law, customers are entitled to a refund, replacement or other remedy for products that have a major failure, or to have goods repaired or replaced where they fail to meet the consumer guarantees.
